March of the Minions! (Also SPOILER ALERT to Minions who have requested, but haven’t yet received their card. Which is a lot of you. I dare you to resist peeking.)
Looking at them all bingo-carded up like this, I see how far I still have to go… Mt. Dew should sponsor me. (Also whatever company revives people from caffeine overdoses.)
I’ve got a favor to ask of you, my Beloved Minions. Besides continuing to be amazing. Which I have every confidence that you will indeed do. If you have a card, and you don’t see it on here, let’s get that fixed. I did brew up a little section on the last page for sad little orphan minions that are out in the world, but have no number. If that’s you, please come home. We miss you.
I see many of you eyeing the bit labeled “Up for grabs!” Yes. These cards want to be yours. They want to live in your binders and wallets and convention badges. They want to be with you and make you smile when you see them. They just need to know you want them, too. If you see one that is just so very you, reblog or comment here, and I’ll set it aside for you. (Yes, you could email or PM me, but if we all do the comment or reblog thing, then a quick scan through the notes will let you know if the one you fancy is already spoken for.)
TTFN, my Beloved Minions! You are the wind beneath my trousers. The sunshine in my kilt.

About : This is the most massively detailed sculpture I’ve done in a while and I had an absolute blast working on it. All the scales were sculpted individually, for the most part, over a period of several days. I love working in this larger format so that I can get all those little details in.
I also enjoyed creating an immersive environment that tells a little bit of a story. I actually used a tiny human placeholder to help me keep the scale of the staircase to the dragon! The Izzet guild symbol can be seen on the plaque near the dragon’s belly.
This was selectively varnished so that the larger scales have more of a sheen than the smaller ones that dissipate into the skin. There is a slight bronze sheen to the scales as well as the piping and globes.
I really hope I get the chance to work on more projects like this in the near future because I love what I can create when I am sculpting in my element!
